Georg Weininger is an advisor at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), currently seconded to the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) through the “Agency for Business and Development” (AWE) programme. In this role, he works to strengthen the participation of trade unions in German development cooperation, focusing on human rights due diligence, global supply chains, and Just Transition.
Previously, he was involved in peace and dialogue work in Jerusalem and worked in crisis management within the Berlin state administration. He studied International Affairs at the Hertie School in Berlin and Philosophy and Literature at the University of Tübingen. Georg Weininger is an alumnus of the Hans Böckler Foundation and has been actively engaged in trade-union‑related political education for many years.
