As part of this LABOR.A 2025 side event, we will focus on the role of trade union co-determination in implementing human rights due diligence across global supply chains. Using a real-world complaint case, we will illustrate how risks were identified, what grievance mechanisms were triggered, and where their limitations became apparent. In addition, we will introduce the new Competence Center for Supply Chains, coordinated by UNI Global Union. The United Auto Workers from USA will present its experience in filing a complaint with BAFA. The event will conclude with a joint reflection on regulatory opportunities, structural challenges, and the support structures needed for co-determination actors.
